Waypoints

  1. Osapiens and ERM announced a strategic alliance at New York Climate Week to jointly serve North American clients.

  2. The offering combines ERM's advisory and delivery capabilities with osapiens' AI platform, the osapiens HUB, for compliance and supplier intelligence.

  3. The alliance follows osapiens' August acquisition of Nasdaq Metrio, Nasdaq's sustainability reporting and carbon accounting software platform, to expand its U.S. footprint.

German sustainability software provider osapiens and consultancy ERM have formed a strategic alliance to sell a combined offering to North American clients, pairing osapiens' AI-driven compliance and supplier intelligence platform, the osapiens HUB, with ERM's advisory and implementation capabilities.

The companies announced the partnership at New York Climate Week. According to the two firms, the joint offering targets enterprises that need to convert sustainability and supply chain data into transparency, operational resilience and commercial value — a demand profile shaped by tightening disclosure regimes on both sides of the Atlantic.

For osapiens, the alliance is a deliberate step in a North American expansion strategy. It follows the company's August acquisition of Nasdaq Metrio, the sustainability reporting and carbon accounting software platform formerly owned by Nasdaq. Osapiens said that deal strengthens its U.S. footprint, brings new customers onto the osapiens HUB platform, and deepens its in-house expertise in non-financial reporting and carbon accounting.

The commercial logic of the pairing is straightforward. Osapiens supplies the data infrastructure: the HUB aggregates sustainability and supply chain information and applies AI for compliance monitoring and supplier intelligence. ERM supplies the consultants who can interpret that data, redesign processes around it, and carry implementation through to delivery inside large enterprises.

Matthias Jungblut, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of osapiens, framed the partnership as a credibility transfer for incoming North American customers.

"ERM has spent decades earning the trust of the world's largest enterprises on sustainability. Pairing that credibility with the osapiens HUB means every customer we bring into North America gets more than software – they get a partner who already understands the ground they're standing on," Jungblut said.

Sabine Hoefnagel, Interim CEO at ERM, positioned the offering around the dual pressure her clients face: regulatory obligation and the push to extract value from data already being collected.

"Companies are looking for ways to navigate evolving sustainability requirements while creating value from the data they collect. By combining osapiens' AI-powered platform with ERM's sustainability expertise and implementation capabilities, we can help clients turn complex supply chain data into informed business decisions, operational improvements and measurable business value," Hoefnagel said.

The partnership structure matters for buyers in the compliance software market. Vendors of reporting and carbon accounting platforms face a recurring problem: customers rarely fail at data collection alone, they fail at embedding that data into procurement decisions, supplier engagement and audit readiness. A software-plus-advisory bundle is an attempt to close that gap, and it puts the osapiens-ERM combination in direct competition with other platform-consultancy pairings that have formed as sustainability disclosure rules have hardened.

Osapiens' acquisition of Nasdaq Metrio in August gave it an installed base of North American reporting customers migrating onto the HUB. The ERM alliance gives those accounts — and prospective ones — a services layer without osapiens having to build a consulting practice of its own.

Neither company disclosed the commercial terms of the alliance, revenue targets, or the number of joint client engagements already underway. The announcement also did not specify which regulatory frameworks the offering will prioritize, though supply chain intelligence and compliance automation point toward the disclosure and due-diligence regimes now driving vendor data requests through industrial supply chains.

The next measurable milestone will be the first announced joint client deployments — and evidence of whether the Metrio customer base converts into retained HUB subscribers under the combined offering.
